Now you can build native iOS, Android and Windows apps in Visual Studio

Developing iOS, Android and Windows applications are now possible in one development environment, using Visual Studio with Xamarin. What is Xamarin? The Xamarin Platform enables developers to build native applications within Visual Studio for every device using the productivity of .NET while leveraging all the power of the device. Microsoft continues to partner with Xamarin to enable a great experience for C# and F# developers doing cross-platform mobile development. In these collaboration, they are jointly providing a discount to eligible MSDN subscribers for Xamarin Business or Enterprise, increasing the integration between Visual Studio and Xamarin, with a streamlined experience for installing Xamarin from Visual Studio, and Xamarin will add Visual Studio support to its free offering Xamarin Starter Edition later this year.  This complements the release of Visual Studio Community, opening up .NET cross-platform mobile development to any developer. To build an app for Android or iOS, install Xamarin, and then create an Android or iOS project. You can target Windows, Android, and iOS devices in the same solution if you want, and then share code between all your device projects by using a shared project or a Portable Class Library project.
Use the same language, APIs and data structures to share an average of 75% of app code across all mobile development platforms. Build user interfaces with Xamarin.Forms and share nearly 100%.[/caption] With Xamarin, you write your apps entirely in C#, sharing the same code on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and more.
