Facebook Video chat announced!

Facebook has just announced video chat functionality for FB chat (powered by Skype). This goes head-to-head with Google+’s Hangouts. To start enjoy chating with our FB friends face-to-face, just click the new cam button at the top of the chat window of your friend (or friend’s FB page).

Another new chat feature launched by Facebook is their answer to Google+ Huddles – multi-person/group chat support.

An Add Friends shortcut will be available so you can easily add friends to a current chat. Unlike Huddles though, this one is limited to the desktop version of Facebook. Huddles, meanwhile, is only available to the app version of Google+. This one, I think, you still have to wait for. This will probably rolled out to all FB users in the next couple of weeks or so.
So if FB group chat is to Google+’s Huddles and FB video chat is sort of their answer to Hangouts, what’s FB’s rival to Circles and Sparks? Maybe they’ll answer that question in their next product launch.
