Facebook buys Instagram for $1 Billion! Interesting?
After the official release of Instagram for Android, it's less than a week, then Instagram is now part of Facebook family!
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram's Kevin Systrom announced lately that Instagram, one of the biggest photo-sharing service app/site was bought by Facebook for $1 Billion in cash and stocks. In two years of existence of Instagram, where it was first introduced for Apple users and now for Android, this may be the big change in their company."Instagram is not leaving", this are the clarification that was made by the CEO, it will stay on what you know about it and will continue to develop for the benefits of its users.
Instagram's Kevin Systrom post:
It’s important to be clear that Instagram is not going away. We’ll be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network. We’ll continue to add new features to the product and find new ways to create a better mobile photos experience.
The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You’ll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you. You’ll still be able to share to other social networks. And you’ll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique. We’re psyched to be joining Facebook and are excited to build a better Instagram for everyone.
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg post:
Maybe, this is Facebook's one move to keep us to stay on Facebook even we are outside the site's environment, and although Instagram is not considered as a networking site, but because it has a big number of members, this may surely will strengthen the power of Facebook.I'm excited to share the news that we've agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.
For years, we've focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we'll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests. We believe these are different experiences that complement each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram's strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook. That's why we're committed to building and growing Instagram independently. Millions of people around the world love the Instagram app and the brand associated with it, and our goal is to help spread this app and brand to even more people.
For me it is interesting because I love Facebook's move and development since I am a member of it. Facebook + Instagram would be more fun...
Are we starting to pin our Instagram photos on Facebook just like on Pinterest? Hmm... sounds intriguing!
interesting blog. It would be great if you can provide more details about it. Thanks you
